Mike was a skilful, fearless winger who played alongside talented stars like Colin Bell and Francis Lee in one of the best Manchester City teams ever. In 1968, Mike helped City win the First Division championship. The following year, they won the FA Cup and in 1970 lifted the European Cup Winners’ Cup with a 2-1 win over Gornik Zabrze. During the Swinging Sixties, Mike’s best mate in Manchester was George Best. They opened a boutique together and Mike’s memories of the Belfast Boy are now a popular part of the after dinner speeches he gives all over the world. Mike also recalls starring alongside Michael Caine, Sylvester Stallone, Bobby Moore, Ossie Ardiles and Pele in the 1980’s cult classic soccer movie, ‘Escape To Victory’. Mike has lived a life filled with star names and he is now looking forward to enjoying more success in future with the team at Rights Highway Sport.
