Ralph Coates Book Now!

Throughout his playing career, Ralph won respect from fans and fellow professionals alike for his honest and totally dedicated approach to the game. Whether playing in midfield or on the wing, Ralph never gave less than 100 per cent for his team. He was born in County Durham and made his name at Burnley, where he played over 200 games and became club captain. Alf Ramsey rewarded Ralph for his consistency and skill by giving him his first full England cap in 1970. One year later, Bill Nicholson signed Ralph for Spurs and in 1972 he helped the club win the UEFA Cup. Another dream came true in 1973 when Ralph scored the winning goal at Wembley in the League Cup Final. That great goal is still a regular topic of conversation when Ralph meets Spurs fans as a member of the club’s matchday hospitality team.
